Self Assessment Tax Returns
Straightforward help with your Self Assessment tax return, from working out what needs to be declared to filing your return with HMRC.
Self Assessment doesn't need to mean spending hours working through tax forms yourself. We'll prepare your tax return, calculate your tax position and explain what you need to pay and when.
Whether you're self-employed, a landlord or have other income or gains that need to be reported, we'll make sure the relevant information is included and your return is submitted to HMRC.
More than completing a tax return
Preparing your tax return isn't just about putting figures into a form.
We'll review the information you provide, consider the relevant expenses, allowances and reliefs available based on your circumstances, and calculate your overall tax position.
Where there's something we think you should know about, we'll explain it clearly. That could be an upcoming tax payment, payments on account, a change affecting your business or something worth considering for the future.
And if there isn't anything that needs changing, we won't complicate things unnecessarily.

Support as your business grows
For sole traders, preparing your tax return also gives us an opportunity to look at how the business is developing, not just what happened during the previous tax year.
If your turnover is approaching the VAT registration threshold, we'll discuss this with you, explain what VAT registration will mean for the business and help you deal with the registration and the changes that follow.
As your profits grow, there may also come a point where operating through a limited company is worth considering. If and when that becomes appropriate, we'll explain the options and help you decide whether a change makes sense for you.
If you decide to incorporate, we can deal with the practical side too, including forming the company and helping you make the move from sole trader to limited company.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax
Self Assessment is changing for some sole traders and landlords
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is now in place for some people with self-employment or property income.
If the rules apply to you, you'll need to keep digital records using compatible software and send quarterly updates to HMRC as part of the new reporting requirements.
If you're unsure whether Making Tax Digital applies to you, we can help you understand what you need to do.
